Description

The European Workshop on Reinforcement Learning (EWRL) is the gathering hub of the Reinforcement Learning research community in Europe and one of the main world-class events in RL. We plan to make the 2025 edition an exciting event for researchers worldwide, both for the presentation of top quality papers, but also as a forum for ample discussion of open problems and future research directions.
Past editions of EWRL can be found here.

Topics

Reinforcement learning is an active field of research which deals with the problem of sequential decision making in unknown (and often) stochastic and/or partially observable environments. Recently there has been a wealth of impressive empirical results, including those coupling Deep Learning function approximators with Reinforcement Learning algorithms, as well as significant theoretical advances. Both types of advances are of major importance and we aim to create a forum to discuss such interesting results, their applications, consequences, and research perspectives.

Venue

EWRL18 will be located in the historical University of Tübingen, Germany. Tübingen is a lovely, vibrant university town in southern Germany, known for its rich history and scenic streets. Check out tourist information here!

Here are the points of interest for this year’s workshop: locations

We provide below a list of different accommodation options. Tübingen is a small town, we also recommend considering hotels in nearby towns or cities that are easily accessible by train or bus, such as Reutlingen, Rottenburg, Unterjesingen and others. Train tickets can be purchased online here or directly at the station. Another option is the regional day-ticket (BW-ticket ), which allows unlimited use of all public transportation in the region.

The venue is within walking distance of the main station (approx. 15 minutes), and many bus lines stop directly in front of the building. In general, public transport in the area is reliable and runs until late at night.

From Stuttgart Airport, there are two direct bus connections to Tübingen: line 828 and line X82. Tickets can be purchased directly from the driver (cash) or online in advance.

We’ve created a Room Sharing Spreadsheet for participants who are open to sharing a hotel room with others. If you’re interested in finding a roommate, please add your details to the sheet. You can also browse the entries to connect with others who are looking to share a room.

If you have any questions about how to reach the venue, please don’t hesitate to contact us!
